Halo Reach

Ah, a prequel to all the other Halo games. The year 2552, and humanity is locked in a war with the Alien Covenant on the human colony of Reach. No, you do not control Master Chief. I think they're done with him for now. You control a guy named Noble 6, a member of an elite super soldier squad, during this "battle for the world of Reach". Like all the other Halo games, it is a first person shooter. In Halo 3 players wield one use equipment power ups that offer offensive or defensive advantages. It is replaced in Reach by reusable and persistent armor abilities that remain with the player until they are replaced. There are also abilities to use a hologram, jetpack, active camo, sprint, and "armor lock", which makes you invincible in exchange for loss of mobility. There are also some new weapons in addition to some tweaked older ones. The game has had very positive reviews. GameRankings and Metacritic 92.23% and 93%.

Portal 2

Yet another game announced at the E3. Portal is a very interesting puzzle game, worthy of any lover of puzzle games. In Portal 2, the computer from the original Portal somehow reboots itself and more or less begins to rebuild itself. You use some kind of gun that can create a portal and will send you into a different part of the level. Simple gameplay, yet hard, if not aggravating puzzles. It will be released in 2011.

Nintendo 3DS

At the last E3, Nintendo announced a new handheld system. The Nintendo 3DS. Man, those guys just make one handheld system after another. It's supposed to be released in 2011. What is so different from the 3DS and the DSi? The Nintendo 3DS is supposed to produce 3d images without the need for any special glasses (wonder how they're gonna pull that off). Also, there is an analog stick with the system. In fact, it's probably the first handheld system to have an analog stick. The touch screen, however, does not produce 3d images, but it would be cool if it did. One of the first games to come out for it is Kid Icarus: Uprising, the first Kid Icarus game in about 20 years.

Pokemon Black and White

Ah, the 5th generation of Pokemon. To think we've reached a Pokedex number of...well, somewhere in the 500s. These two games were announced May 28th, so the news has been around for a while. It's said to bring out a revolution in Pokemon. I guess we'll see. We only know of the English names of two Pokemon. Reshiram, which will be the featured legendary Pokemon on Pokemon Black, and Zekrom, which will be the featured legendary Pokemon of Pokemon White.

Super Mario Galaxy 2

This game was released recently. It works much the same way as the original Super Mario Galaxy, but with a few added things. For one, Mario can now ride a Yoshi, and that Yoshi can have different abilities depending on what fruit he eats. New items also appear, such as a drill, which allows Mario to drill through planets, a Rock Mushroom, which allows the Mario to smash through barriers, and the Cloud Flower, which allows Mario to create new platforms in midair (Now that is nifty). Super Mario Galaxy 2's reception is very good, with an average critic score of 97.35%. GamesRadar says that despite Wiis technical limitations, Galaxy 2 "understands how to get the most out of aging technology that nearly all graphical flaws are smoothed over or covered up, leaving you with Wii's best looking title yet". That's quite a praise, and is enough to convince me to buy it.

Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver versions

Sorry for not posting in forever. Internet was down. Anyway, Pokemon HeartGold and Soulsilver came out recently. As I understand it, you can do almost anything with the touch screen. From moving pokemon from box to box to choosing items in your bag. We see Team Rocket this time around (ah, good old Team Rocket), and what they're up to is...well, not good. Duh. Anyone who is familiar with the original Gold and Silver versions have an idea of how the game flows and what Pokemon can be found. Also, I have heard if you send Pokemon such as Arceus, the recent Jirachi, and the Pikachu colored Pichu from Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum into Heartgold or Soulsilver, some secrets are unlocked. I can't tell you what kind of secrets though...:)

I have decided to start this year off with blogs that ask questions. They aren't trivia, just simple questions. First off, what are the games you have?
